根據全球財政經濟的規定，借錢就要付利息。
「利息不睡覺、不生病、不死亡；利息從不上醫院；星期假日也照常工作；利息不休假，不訪友也不遠遊，利息不享樂，從不被解雇，也不會失業，它從不遲到早退。一旦負債，利息就日日夜夜，分分秒秒，隨侍在側，你躲不開也溜不掉；沒辦法教它走開；懇求、要求、命令，它概不受理；不論你何時擋了它的去路、礙到它，或達不到它的要求，它就會壓得你喘不過氣。」
我的弟兄姊妹們，當我看到和聽到有些鼓吹二胎房貸的廣告時，頗感驚訝。簡單地說，他們是把房子拿去二度抵押，提倡這種貸款的用意是在引誘我們借貸更多的錢來得到更多的東西。但是其中卻沒有提到，如果此人無法償還二度貸款的時候，實際上會有失去房子的危險。
要避開「昨日的奢侈品將成為今日的必需品」這類的價值觀和藉口。除非我們執意如此，否則那些東西絕非必需品。今日有許多年輕的夫婦一開始就想擁有許多部車，想要擁有他們父母一生辛勤工作所買下的那種房子；因此，他們靠著兩份薪水，長期償還債務。或許當生活發生變化，像是婦女懷孕、家人染上疾病、失業、天災和發生其他狀況，再也無法靠著兩份薪水來付貸款時，才驚覺為時已晚。
